Obituary for EHLERT

C. Wayne Ehlert, 71, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 14, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Alma; son, Jeff Ehlert and wife, Andrea; grandchildren, Kendahl and Terrance; father, Clarence Ehlert; brother, Richard and nephew, Rodd. He was preceded in death by his son, Barry in 1981 and his mom, Ida. Wayne was born in Concordia, Missouri to Clarence and Ida Ehlert, graduated from Concordia High School, Received his Bachelors Degree at Warrensburg College and his Masters Degree at the University of New Mexico. He met and married Alma in 1959 and taught Industrial Arts & English at Los Lunas High School from 1964 to 1976. During this time he also taught adult education in the evenings. In 1976 Mr. Ehlert and Howard Stansel founded Hope Christian School and was actively involved with day to day activities and served on the Board until retiring in 2004. In his earlier years in Albuquerque he was active in Youth for Christ as Club Director where he met Alma and they were also active in Faith Chapel where he taught Bible Study and was involved with the youth group. Services will be held Thursday, May 22, 2008, 2:00 p.m., at Hope Christian School Gym, 8005 Louisiana Blvd. NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, Wednesday, May 21, 2008, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Burial will be private. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hope Christian School Scholarship Fund, payable to Hope Foundation, 8005 Louisiana Blvd NE 87109.
