Rogerio "Roger" G. Gonzales, 84, of Albuquerque and Sedillo Hill, went Home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 14, 2008. He was born May 23, 1923 in Sedillo Hill to the late Santos and Delfinia Garcia Gonzales. Roger was a veteran of the Army in World War II. He married Maria Elena Rael on September 15, 1945. Roger retired as an electrician from Sandia Corporation in 1985 after 28 years of service. He was a parishioner at the Shrine of St. Bernadette. Roger was preceded in death by a brother, Fernando Gonzales; a granddaughter, Helen Kathrine Cook in 2002; a grandson, Paul Carlos Sanchez in 2007. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Maria "Helen" Elena Gonzales; a daughter, Priscilla Garcia and her husband, Joe Magdaleno Garcia; two sons, Armenio Gonzales and his wife, Melende Gonzales, David Gonzales and his wife, Sylvia Garibay-Gonzales; eight grandchildren, Janet, Michele, Lisa, Tony, Christina, and Susan; nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; five brothers, Lonicio, Evidelio and spouse, Eralia, Efren and spouse, Flora, Anselmo and fiance, Perta, Elizardo and spouse, Maria and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2008 at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Holy Child Catholic Church in Tijeras with Father Mark Garanito, Celebrant. Interment will follow in San Isidro Cemetery, Sedillo Hill. Friends may visit French Mortuary on Monday, May 19, from 6:00 p.m. until time of Rosary.
