Obituary for ZANONI

Pete Leo Zanoni, 87, a resident of Albuquerque died Wednesday, April 30, 2008. He is survived by his sons, Mark R. Zanoni of Albuquerque and Peter D. Zanoni and wife Mona of Lees Summit, MO; daughter, Jeanenne Massey and husband John of Tijeras, NM; grandchildren, Anne Bouckley and husband Ray of Dripping Springs, TX, Ben Massey of Ventura, CA, and David Zanoni of Lees Summit, MO; and one great-granddaughter, Sarah Bouckley. Pete was born on September 8, 1920 in Trinidad, CO and was a graduate of the University of Texas. He served his country during WWII as a 1stLT in the Army Air Corps as a Bombardier on a B-24 Liberator. He flew during D-Day and 35 other combat missions for which he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. Pete loved to play golf, tennis, and most other sports. He loved spending time with his family and although he was never a big conversationalist, what he said spoke volumes. Pete was a good listener and a loving compassionate man who his family said was the greatest man they ever knew. Services will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at French Mortuary - Lomas Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery with military honors.
