Obituary for FLUCKEY

Dorothy Mae "Dee" Fluckey, a resident of Elephant Butte, NM, passed away April 20th, 2008, after a courageous fight with cancer. Dee was born September 8, 1924, in Los Angeles, CA. As school teacher, travel agent, Avon Lady, member of the garden Club, Sierra Good Sam's, American Legion Post Legion 44, and VFW Auxiliaries, Dee influenced many during her journey through this life. She greeted everyone with a smile. She had many passions that she pursued including decorating, gardening, birding, RVing, Bingo, and challenging all comers to Bridge and Bunko. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Wallace N. Fluckey; her sons, Bruce M. Fluckey and wife, Mary, and Forrest N. Fluckey and wife, Grace. She was blessed with five grandchildren, Jennifer and Sara DiGrazia, Adam, Matthew, and Nicholas Fluckey; great-grandchildren include, Jordon and still-to-be born, Addisson. Dee was preceded in death by her only daughter, Sharon E. DiGrazia. She will be deeply missed by family, friends, and "Criquet". Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Celebration Service will be conducted Saturday, May 10, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at the American Legion Post 44, Hwy 195, Elephant Butte, NM. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made in Dee's memory to the American Legion Post Unit 44 Auxiliary, PO Box 1073, Elephant, Butte, NM 87935. Arrangements are by Kirikos Family Funeral Home, Inc. and Sierra Crematory, LLC (T or C, NM).
