Helen Vroom Dersahagian, 95, born on December 15, 1912, in Patterson, NJ, passed away in Thousand Oaks, CA on March 21, 2008, of natural causes. She fought the good fight. She resided in Sloatsburg, NY from 1954-1978, and Albuquerque, New Mexico from 1978-2001. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Simon (Dusty); daughter, Christie; and grandson, Duke; as well as all six of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Jay; and grandchildren, Alyssa and Ty. She lived with Jay, Alyssa, and Ty from 2001 until her passing. She lovingly taught first grade for five decades in the NJ Public School System and corresponded with former students throughout her life. Other fond memories include, summers spent at Green Pond, NJ in her youth. No finer wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, teacher, or friend has ever graced this earth.
