Marta D. Benjamin, 76, went peacefully to sleep and awoke in heaven. She is survived by her son, Steven Benjamin, Sr. and wife, Roberta; daughter, Kim Macaron and husband, Mark; grandchildren, Steven Jr., Christopher, Shaniece, Chyanne, and Makayla Benjamin, and Kristian, Mark II, Melissa, and Jason Macaron; great-grandchild, Diego Benjamin; brothers, David Padilla, and Frank Victor Padilla and wife, Eva; sister, Grayce Britton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Benjamin was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Vance Benjamin; brothers, Matt, Blase, and Lito Padilla, and John Sekot. Marta was born in Dawson, NM. She lived in Albuquerque where she worked for Mountain Bell until her retirement. Marta devoted her life to her family, and her grandchildren were her greatest treasure. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, April 24, 2008, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel.
