Barbara Joan Meyer, 73, a resident of Albuquerque since 2000, died Saturday, April 19, 2008. She is survived by her brother, Wayne Abbott and wife, Roberta, of Leo, IN; sisters, Beverly Ortegon of Tuolumne, CA., Dorothy MacDonald and husband, Robert, of Bakersfield, CA, Barbara Verveniotis and husband, Spyros, of San Carlos, CA, Donna Hawk of Windsor, CA, and Judy Weaver and husband, Dwell, of Scott, AR; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard W. Meyer, in 2006; sister, Pat Gallagher; and brother, Walter C. Abbott. She was born on November 8, 1934, in Chicago, IL to Walter C. and Rose Abbott. Before moving to Albuquerque, Barbara and her husband, Dick, were owners and operators of Anchor Man Clothing Store in Syracuse, IN. Barbara was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church. She loved playing golf and spending time reading. Barbara was a loving sister and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
