Kurt W. Damon, 51, resident of Tijeras, New Mexico. On Tuesday, March 25, 2008, the world as we know it, changed. A soul so deep, so uniquely witty, caring, and supportive, left us for the other side. Kurt W. Damon, who was born in New York City in 1956, passed on at 51 in his beloved Tijeras with his adopted family by his side. At age 13, Kurt was adopted by the Louise Malone family who at that time lived in Marin County, CA. As a young man, he was professionally trained in the auction houses of San Francisco and acquired the keen eye for and immense knowledge of antiques which would become his life long passion. He became a professional auctioneer and appraiser of art and furniture and worked in Marin County, San Francisco, Palm Desert, and Newport Beach, where he owned an auction house. His love of superior craftsmanship and reverence for fine art brought him clients from throughout the world that often evolved into good friends. Kurt was known for his intelligence, warmth, compassion, and special sense of humor. He was loved, admired, and respected by his clients, friends, and family for his quick wit and intelligence, supreme levels of support, caring, advice and consolation, and love of a good practical joke! Kurt's lifelong dream was to live in New Mexico. In 2006, he finally realized his dream and settled in Tijeras, near to his adopted family. He is survived by his sister, Louise Malone; niece, Melody Cross-Torres; nephew, Damien Malone; grandniece, Pandora Torres; and the many friends throughout the country who loved him and whom he loved dearly.
