Irma Kay Ellis (88) passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 6, 2008 with family members by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Ellis; her sister, Dorothy Gingrass; her brother, Harry Hoffert; her daughter, Margaret Dean Friend and her grandson, Richard Lee Friend. She is survived by her brother, Bill Hoffert and his wife, Leota; by her daughter, Mary Ann Garcia and her husband, Jerry and Di Ann Turner and her husband, Mick; by her sons, David H. Huskisson and his wife, Camela, Tommy Joe Ellis and his wife, Angela, and Bobby Joe Ellis. Irma Ellis is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; one great- great- grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Irma was born in Lincoln. Illinois on March 23, 1920. She and her husband were very involved with the balloon fiesta and Irma was known as the cookie lady with the local balloonists. She enjoyed arts and crafts and crossword puzzles. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST. NW., on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 10:00am. Interment will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 3:00pm. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW. ABQ. 505-343-8008
