John Joseph Pineda, 66, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2008 at his home in Socorro, NM surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 27, 1941 in Phoenix, AZ. John dedicated over 30 years of service working for Dyncore (Landair) supporting government contracts for various government agencies. John enjoyed working with many of his co-workers who became very dear friends to him. John enjoyed spending time with family and keeping his wife Gina busy. Hunting and fishing and being outdoors was what he loved best. For those that knew John best, he's gone fishing and will meet us all at the shore someday. John is preceded in death by his parents, Polo and Jean (Elgin) Pineda; and his grandson, Jeffery Scott Pineda. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Virginia (Gina) Herrera of their home in Socorro; sons: Jeff Pineda and wife, Melissa of Las Vegas, NV; and Jon Pineda and wife, Brigitta of Belen, NM; granddaughters: Jennifer Pineda of Wahington, D.C.; Natasha Pineda of Belen, NM; and Rebekah Piper of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Evelyn Esquivel of Socorro, NM; brother, Polo Pineda Jr. and wife, Sylvia of Socorro, NM; numerous nieces and nephews; and his very special cats, Kellie and Socks. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro with Funeral Mass to be celebrated immediately following. Father Andy Pavlak as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Polvadera Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jeff Pineda, Jon Pineda, Stan Sherred, Manny Sarracino, Mike Sarracino and Polo Pineda Jr.. Honorary Pallbearers are George Salome, Polo Herrera, Joe (Oscar) Torres, Dave Gonzales Sr., Ralph Valles, Carlos Vega, Bella Gonzales, Danny Herrera, Bonnie Jaramillo, Charlie Brown, David Dotson, Ray Ayala, David Baca, Tomas Herrera, and Sam Atencio.
