Mary L. Young, a long time resident of Albuquerque, age 80, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008 after a long illness. She was born on June 5, 1927, in Queens, NY. Mary was a Catholic Dominican Nun for 23 years, and she taught at the girl's academy in Havana, Cuba. After leaving Cuba, she served as Mother Superior of the Dominican Retreat House on Coors, SW in Albuquerque, NM. After her marriage, Mary was an elementary school teacher at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM for 20+ years. She is survived by her husband, Edwin E. Young, also of Albuquerque. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2008, 10:00 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may visit on Friday, March 28, 2008, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at French Mortuary Wyoming Blvd. Chapel.
