Byrdie Sue Walters, age 72, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 22, 2008. She was born on May 15, 1935, to Alden and Esther Hodges in St. Louis, MO. Byrdie Sue was a long time member of Del Norte Baptist Church and helped as a day care worker. She worked with the Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts, and the Cub Scouts for over 31 years. Byrdie Sue always loved and cherished her family. her smile and hugs will be missed, but not forgotten. She is survived by her husband, W. Dean Walters, of 54 years of marriage; their children, Dean A Walters, Susan Flores and husband, Timothy, Mary Lynn Owens and close friend, Joe Owens, and Mark Walters and wife, Mendi. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her brother, Alden B. Hodges, Jr and wife, Joyce; and her Aunt Anna May Mason. Byrdie Sue is preceded in death by her sister, Mary Esther Swaim; and her Uncle Wesley; and Aunt Naomi Peace. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 7:00 p.m., Del Norte Baptist Church, 5800 Montgomery Blvd. NE, with Pastor Robert E. Myers.
