Fannie S. Otero, 85, of Albuquerque passed away on Monday, March 3, 2008. She was born on June 27, 1922 in Taos, NM, to David and Teresina T. Struck. Fannie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rudolph F. Otero in 2002; and her son, Rudy Otero, Jr. in 1994. She is survived by her children, Rosalie C. Otero, David L. Otero and wife, Dorinda, all of Albuquerque, and Margaret Ann Otero-Keiser of Rio Rancho; beloved grandchildren, Michael Arthur, Carlos R. Otero, and Andrea Ellen Otero-Benoit, all of Denver, CO, Jeffrey M. Naranjo of Espanola, Kevin J. Otero and Anna Christina Yurcic of Albuquerque, and Jeremy and Derrick Keiser of Rio Rancho. Fannie's close-knit family also included twelve great-grandchildren and her first-cousin, Regina Velarde of Taos. She and her family lived in Espanola for many years where she worked as an Executive Secretary with the Jemez Electric Company. When the family moved to Albuquerque, Fannie worked with PubCo. Fannie was active in Veteran's Affairs with her late husband. She had many interests and hobbies including sewing, reading, and working on crossword puzzles. Fannie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and a generous woman who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2007 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. at the Wyoming Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2008, with interment at 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
