Obituary for DURAN

Louis M. Duran, 75, passed away Friday, February 29, 2008. He was born and raised in El Porvenir, NM and a longtime resident of Albuquerque. Louis retired from The University of Albuquerque and the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, good neighbor and friend. Louis was loved and will be greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Eloisa Duran and by his wife, Theresa Duran. He is survived by his son, Ricardo Duran and wife Sarah; granddaughters, Danielle Duran and Devonie Duran-Harvey and husband Brice; great-grandsons, Darien and Deangelo Wade; brothers, Frank Duran and Austin Duran; sisters, Florentina Carrillo and Christina Gallegos; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. A Rosary will be recited at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW, on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 7:00 p.m., with a viewing beginning at 6:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Las Vegas, NM, on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the San Antonio Mission Cemetery in El Porvenir, NM. A reception will follow at the Eagle Club in Las Vegas, NM. Pallbearers will be Ray Duran, Gilbert Duran, Charles Carrillo, Henry Gallegos, Brice Harvey, and David Wade.
