Richard Ray Blaney, 74, longtime resident of Albuquerque, raced away Thursday, February 28, 2008. He is survived by his significant other, Sue McNutt; sister, Sandra Norlander; children, Deborah Williams and husband, Jerry, Richard Blaney, Jr., Ronette Olson, Dani McNutt, and Dawn Garrett; grandchildren, Kurt Lippert, Travis Blaney, Savanah Olson, Trina Williams, Deann and Chauncey Garrett; eight great-grandchildren; and many loyal and loved friends. Mr. Blaney was preceded in death by his wife, Judy I. Blaney; parents, Thomas and Lucille Blaney; and sister, Shirley Smith. Richard took pieces of our hearts with him and he and his smile will be greatly missed. Friends may visit Tuesday, March 4, 2008, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel.
