Meraldo (Mel), age 74, of Alameda, NM, passed away Saturday February 23, 2008 of Kidney Disease. He was born on June 8, 1933 in Alameda, NM. Mel was surrounded by his loving family and is now in Heaven to be with our Lord. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Rebecca Lucero; also a brother, Julian Lucero, of Moriarty, NM. He was a loving husband and father. Meraldo is survived by his loving wife, Lucy Lucero, of 50 years; his sons, Henry C. Lucero, of Alameda, NM, Chris and his wife, Geraldine, Lucero of Grants, NM, Arthur and his wife, Michelle Lucero, of Moriarty, NM; also by his daughter, Julia Lucero and friend, J.C. Chavez, of Albuquerque, NM; his brothers, Isidro and wife, Pat Lucero, of Alameda, NM, Bobby and his wife, Pauline Lucero, of Alameda, NM, Clyde and his wife, Margo Lucero, of Houston, TX; his sister-in-law, Berna Lucero, of Moriarty NM. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as many family members and dear friends. We would also like to express our sincere thanks to Ladera Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Meraldo was a long life roofer and owner of North Valley Roofing. He was also a member of S.N.M.D.M.P. De Alameda Nuevo Mexico and a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Visitation for Mr. Lucero will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 also at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at San Carlos Cemetery.
