RAQUEL Graveside services for Raquel "Rachel" Blea, 92, of Albuquerque, New Mexico will be held on Wednesday,February 27, 2008,11:00 a.m. at the Grants Memorial Park. Pastor Steve Ulibarri will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday-February 27, 2008, 9:00 a.m.-10:45 a.m. at Compassion Mortuary. Mrs. Blea was born on January 8, 1915 in San Rafeal, New Mexico and passed away on February 23, 2008 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She graduated from Grants High School was active in sports, and won awards in home economics. She and her husband owned many businesses; she even drove a gas truck when they owned a gas station, radiator shop, motel, and a taxi cab business; drove the taxi, and raised eight children while working with her husband. Her nick name was Mrs. Blue. She was very active in the community. She is survived by her children; Julian H. Blea, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Arthur Blea and wife, Lena, of Grants, New Mexico, Virginia Uguarte and husband, Rudy, of San Antonio, Texas, Nancy Chavez and husband, Edward, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Priscilla Serrano and husband, Gilbert, of Espanola, New Mexico, Mela Borrego and husband, Alfonso, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Christine Fragua and husband, Clifford, of Antonito, Colorado, and Norman DaSalla and husband, Jerry, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 27 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Julian L. Blea; parents, Pablo Gallegos and Maria Arellanes Gallegos; brothers, Merced Gallegos, Rafael Gallegos, and Arenello Gallegos; Sisters, Lola Chavez, Rita Chavez, and Elvidia Chavez. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Borrego, Antonio Chavez, Orlando Chavez, Samuel Blea, Sampson Blea, and Jonathan Blea. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jospeh Chavez and Charles Burrola.
