Obituary for GALLEGOS

Eddie Gallegos, 76, a life long resident of Albuquerque, and devoted father and grandfather, passed away in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loved ones, on Thursday, February 21, 2008. Eddie was preceded in death by his father and mother, Antonio and Premia Gallegos; wife Rosalie; sister, Clara; brothers, Nick, Nestor, and Emilliano. He is survived by his son, Eddie Jr. and wife Monica; two grandchildren, Eddie III and Melanie; sister Hilda and husband Jimmy; sister Flora; brother, Joe Gallegos; and many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. Eddie was known to be a dedicated and hard working man; her retired from Cutter Flying Service after 44 years of service; he went on to work for A.P.S. as a custodian at L.B.J. Middle School where he retired after five years of service. He then moved on to Service Master for an additional year of employment. Eddie enjoyed spending his weekends with his life-long friends Luz Garcia, Bobby Garcia, Juan Baca, Moises, and many other friends. He also enjoyed going fishing, gambling at local casinos, attending his grandkids sporting and school events and activities. Eddie will be dearly remembered and missed by his family and all who know and loved him. A Viewing will be held Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Salazar & Sons Mortuary, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Rosary and celebration of Eddie's life will follow at St. Joseph's on the Rio Grande Catholic Church at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated Monday, February 25, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Josephs on the Rio Grande Catholic Church with the Burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard, Jessie, Ivan, Larry, Raymond, and Carl. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank, Juan, Ronald, Orlando, Clovis, Paul, Phillip, Clifford, and Jimmy.
