Homer Chesshir was born May 23, 1931. He passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2008 in Albuquerque. Homer was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Chesshir; his parents, Kannie and Harmon Chesshir; and his brother, Harmon Chesshir. He is survived by his children, Kathy Warren and husband Buzzy of Bernalillo, NM; Tommy Chesshir and wife Sandy of Pilot Rock, OR; Janie Mealand of Roswell, NM; and Cynthia "Kitty" Hysell of Bernalillo, NM; his brother, Jimmy Chesshir of Grants, NM; sisters, Mildred Jo Cooper of Grants, NM, Minnie Hoisington of Grants, NM and Mary Harris of Rio Rancho, NM; fifteen grandchildren; 7 1/2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. In the later years of his life, one of Homer's greatest accomplishments was establishing and helping to operate the Food Bank at the First Baptist Church in Bernalillo. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church in Bernalillo Food Bank, 800 South Camino del Pueblo, Bernalillo, NM. 87004. The Funeral Service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Bernalillo on Monday, February 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. with US Army Honors.
