Obituary for LOPEZ

Josephine L. Lopez, 79, passed away February 7th after a serious illness. She was preceded in death by her parents: Juan B. and Virginia Lovato and by her husband of 51 years: Elijio Leo Lopez. Josephine was a faithful wife, devoted mother, and adoring grandmother. She touched the lives and hearts of all who knew her. Her many years of community service, generous acts of charity and volunteer efforts throughout her life were done with energetic compassion and tireless effort. She turned those efforts into social events and made all who worked with her love and appreciate her endearing qualities and humorous narratives. Thanks to all of the family, friends and acquaintances who touched and enhanced her life. She is survived by her children: Andrew Lopez, Fedrick D. Lopez and wife, Christine; Roberta M. Lopez-Taylor, Diego L. Lopez, Anthony L. Lopez, J. Julian Lopez, Enrique J. Lopez and Francis M. J. Lopez; grandchildren: Charles Taylor and Heather Taylor-Deli and husband, Alexander Deli; Nicholas Hornsby-Lopez, Julia Lopez, Jilian Lopez, Alaric Lopez, Adelaide and Sinaed Lopez; "sisters": Lila Roque, Christina Chavez, Tillie Fernandez, Rita Serna, Ruby Castillo, Lucy Herrera; "brother": Tony Herrera. She will be sorely missed by her multitude of friends. A Rosary will be Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix NE. Friday, a Eulogy will begin at 9:50 a.m. followed by a Life Celebration Mass at 10:00 a.m. also at Queen of Heaven. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alaric Lopez, Alexander Deli, Patrick Romero, Oliver Wilton, Danny Arriola, Gerald Castillo. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Taylor, Nicholas Hornsby-Lopez, Tony Herrera, Jim Lobato and Louis Chavez.
