Robert Mares, 59, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on February 8, 2008, with his loving family by his side and is now in Heaven with Our Lord. Robert is the beloved husband to Rebecca Mares, married for 16 years. Robert is also survived by his daughter, Sabrina Mares; his mother, Cordelia Mares; his sister, Christina Struck and husband, Al; his brother, Tony Mares and companion, Jo; his mother in law, Rafaelita Sarracino; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Sisto Mares Jr.; his grandma, Manuelita Mares; and his uncle, Manuel Mares. Robert was a member of the Catholic Church; he worked for the City of Albuquerque for many years, in the Department of Senior Affairs and was well known and loved by all his "Seniors." A visitation for Robert will be Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Gabriella Nieto. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW, with visitation after 10:30 a.m. Burial of Robert's cremains will take place at a later time.
