Obituary for ANDERSON

Sarah Darline Sheen Anderson, "Darline" to all who knew and loved her, died on February 1, 2008 at Anna Kaseman Hospice Care. She was born on November 16, 1918 in Buffalo County, Odessa Township, NE. She had achieved the age of 89 years, two months, and 16 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Henry Sheen and Ruth Abigial Blanton Sheen and by her husband of 47 years, Eugene "Bud" Anderson, who died in July 1985; infant son, Jock William; three sisters, Dorothy Kennedy, Ruth Richards Shields, Ruby Gutschenritter; and her brother, Lester "Junior" Sheen; a daughter-in-law, Michele Anderson; and brothers-and sisters-in-law, Paul Kennedy, Bill Richards, Willie Shields, Johnny Gutschenritter, Lavonne Sheen, Irene and Don Hein, Joyce and Ardis Anderson, Dwayne, Opal, and Jo Anderson, Leroy and Lillian Anderson, and Celia Anderson; two nieces, Vickie Watson and Gail Anderson; and two nephews, Rod Anderson and Tyler Anderson. She is survived by three children, Terry Anderson and wife, Cathy of Albuquerque, Dennis "Denny" Anderson and wife, Judy of Preston, ID and Jill Anderson and husband, Leander Tamoria of Cambria, CA; six grandsons and three granddaughters, Dawn Anderson, Laura and Carrie Bierck, Brooke and Patrick Smith and Jesse, Nicholas, Daniel and Jonah Tamoria; brothers-in-law, Warren Anderson, Bill Anderson and wife, LaDonna, Ronald Anderson and wife, Dorothy; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and friends whom she dearly loved. Darline lived in Buffalo County Nebraska for 81 years; two years in Phelps County, NE and six years in Albuquerque. She and husband, Bud lived on farms north of Holdrege, NE and west of Kearney. She completed 10 grades at Alfalfa Center Rural School and then graduated from Longfellow High School in Kearney, in 1937. She also took some classes at Kearney State Teachers College. She worked for 20 plus years as a teller and in other capacities for Platte Valley State Bank. She also worked as a bookkeeper for the Platte Valley Potato Growers and as a caregiver for Sugar and Spice Childcare Center. She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend to all that she met and was "the hostess with the mostest." She was a good cook, loved to clean and quilt, loved golf and pinochle, and had a deep appreciation of the beauty and complexity of God's creation. She was a long-time member of the Alfalfa Center Kensington Club and a former member of the Valley View Golf Club. She was active for over 50 years in the First United Methodist Church in Kearney, and was an affiliate member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Albuquerque. She will be missed. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, February 6, 2008, 2:00 p.m., at First United Methodist Church in Kearney, NE, with Rev. Dr. Terry Anderson officiating. A service of remembrance will also be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Albuquerque, date and time to be announced.
