Major Dodson Ramseur Marrs, USA, (Ret), 53, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1991, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2008. He is survived by Irene Marrs; children, Brandy Marrs of Albuquerque; Mike and Mark Riddick and families of VA; Cipriano Mondragon and family of Rio Rancho; NM; Esperanza Cordova and family of Rio Rancho, NM; grandchildren, Nathan Edward Riddick, Samantha Perez, Glen Rhodes, and Vicente Mondragon; mother, Annette Marrs of Albuquerque; sisters, Priscilla Newberger and family of OR; Lee Marrs and family of CA; brothers, John Marrs of CA, Lt. Col. William Marrs and family of IL; Lt. Col. James Marrs and family of TX; and numerous other relatives and friends. Dodson was preceded in death by his father Major Gen. Theodore C. Marrs in 1990. He was born on July 2, 1954 on Eglin AFB, Florida and moved to New Mexico in 1987. He was a very generous and helpful person to his friends and neighbors, never expecting anything in return. Dodson was very easy going, intelligent and loved to fix things. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother and friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Graveside services will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St., Santa Fe, NM on Wednesday, January 23, 2008, 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please plant flowers in Dodson's memory.
