Obituary for DAVIDSON

Loren "Dave" Irving Davidson, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 2005, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2008 at his home. He was born on November 10, 1923 in Harbine, Kansas to Clifford and Katherine Davidson and was raised on a farm in Belleville, Kansas. He married Sophia "Gene" Davidson on November 6, 1943 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Loren was preceded in death by his parents, and his only sister Doris. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gene; his only child, Toni Fleisher and spouse, Mark; his only grandchild, Tamara Selimovic and spouse, Alan and their daughters, Loren's great-granddaughters, Jordan and Payton; one niece; and three nephews. Loren was especially close to his nephew Kenny Oxley of Cripple Creek, CO whom he has stayed in close contact throughout the years. Loren attended grade school and High School in rural Kansas and was one of only 5 graduating seniors in the class of 1941 from Byron High School. He worked on his father's farm throughout the depression and after Pearl Harbor joined the Army in 1942, receiving a honorable discharge in 1946. Loren attended DePaul University in Chicago studying nursing and worked in Manhattan, Kansas for the U.S.D.A. in conjunction with Kansas State University doing biological research until retiring in 1984. In 1991 Loren and Gene moved to Phoenix, Arizona and then to Albuquerque in 2005 to be closer to their family. Services will be held Thursday, January 17, 2008, 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
