Joyce C. McGowan, 80, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1995, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2008. Joyce was born February 20, 1927 the daughter of Peter Ivan and Gertrude Westervelt Cook in Passaic, New Jersey. She was known for her love of travel and adventure. Her quick wit and fun loving spirit will truly be missed by her friends and family. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband John McGowan in 1995. She is survived by two children, Terry McGowan and wife, Cynthia Crawford of Napa, CA and her two children Anne Sjahsam and husband Oliver, and Kelly Dunn; Ron McGowan and wife Dana McDaniel of Corrales; three grandchildren, Jennifer McGowan and husband Michael Terrero and their children, Alina and Sofia; Heather Bink and husband Richard, and their children, Richie and Audrey; and Lara FitzSimons and husband Ben, and their daughter, Luella; one sister, Mrs. Jean Pelligrino of Clifton, NJ; and her numerous beloved friends.
