Obituary for KNIGHT

Donald Murray Knight died Saturday, January 5, 2008. Born on July 16, 1930 to Ruth and Clifford Eric Knight in Ponca City, OK. Survivors include: Lucerne, loving wife of 54 years: sons, Robert Eric and Allen; daughters, Alyssa and husband, John Johnson, Nahid Movaghar, Candice and husband, Mike Angel; granddaughters, Christina, her sister, Kelly, Nancy and her husband, Jerry Sanchez; grandsons, Vince. Varick, Victor Angel; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Knight and Alan Sanchez; Don's brother, Robert Lee Knight and wife, Helen of Guilderand, NY with their sons, Brian, Glenn, Darryll and theirs families; Carl Hudson, and other cousins in Harrison, AR; sister-in-law. Sara Nell and her husband, Joe Farr, their daughter, Jorita and her husband, James Petty; brother-in-law, Roy Addus Mitchell and wife Georgia Lee of Carney, Okla., their six children, spouses, great-nieces and nephews. Like family are the wonderful ladies who cared for Don in the home: Becky Baca, Peggy Weeda RN, Ana Mora, and Sarah Munoz. There are too many neighbors and good friends to list, just know that Don appreciated and loved you all. Adventurous, talented, brave, up-beat, humorous, and tender-hearted, Don became one of the first physically handicapped teachers hired by APS and taught 25 years on crutches before retiring after breaking a leg out fishing in the riprap below Cochiti Lake Dam in NM. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM.
