Obituary for BURRELL

Lavon W. Burrell, 83, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Virginia Lee Burrell; sons, Brett Lee Burrell and wife, Nancy and William F Burrell and wife, Deborah all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Shannon, Brandi and Colin Burrell; and great-grandson, Shawn. Lavon was a pilot in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Later, he moved to Albuquerque to work for Sandia Corporation, and then he was offered a position with Blue Cross Blue Shield where he became CEO for 25 years. Lavon was honored with the naming of the Burrell building on Indian School Road upon his retirement. He loved to build things and work with his hands, a man of many talents. He will be surely missed. Services will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Latter Day Saints, North Valley Ward, 1100 Montano NW.
