Bennett King passed away at home December 21, 2008 at the age of 80. After graduating from Fountain Valley School ('44), he attended the University of Illinois under the US Navy Officer Training Program. He remained in the Active Reserve for 22 years, attaining the rank of Commander. He began his varied career as a reporter before working in public relations with both United and Continental Airlines. He later became a businessman, investor and Realtor. He is remembered for his indefatigable optimism, competitive spirit, generosity and sense of humor. He cared deeply for his family, friends and employees. A loving husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 53 years, four children and ten grandchildren.
