Fulgencia (Fugie) Chavez, age 96, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, went home to be with Lord, Tuesday, December 25, 2007. She was a resident of Albuquerque and a member of the Catholic Community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Catarino Chavez; and by a son, Fred Chavez. Fugie is survived by her loving children, Juanita Gonzales; Charlie Chavez and wife, Gina; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Vigil and Mickie Apodaca; and other family members and friends. Fugie will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1860 Griegos Rd. NW. Interment will follow at San Carlos Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Parras, Chris Ortiz, Fred Chavez, Charlie Chavez Jr., Lawrence Gonzales, and David Saiz.
