Obituary for BROWN

Rev. Robert J. Brown, 81, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on December 27, 2007. He was born July 29, 1926, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He came to know and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at Grace Church in Albuquerque. Bob pastored Berean Baptist Church in Santa Fe, NM and was Chaplain of the New Mexico State Penitentiary from 1947 to 1959 when he answered God's calling to be a missionary for more than forty years to the Huichol Indians in Jalisco and Nayarit, Mexico. He was interim pastor for Albuquerque Bible Church for one year. His life mission was sharing the Gospel to all who would listen. Preaching the Gospel was his passion. Bob was the most selfless, loving and giving example of God's love. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert G. Brown; his mother, Clorinda Brown; five of his brothers and sisters, and two grandchildren. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Gloria Jean Brown; his children, Paul Brown, Ruth Aubert and husband, Enrique, Lois Guffey and husband, Acie, Esther Aubert and husband Salvador; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; as well as his two sisters, Louisa Dimas, and Josie Savage and husband, Dave. The viewing will take place Sunday, December 30, 2007 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW. The Funeral Service will be held at Albuquerque Bible Church, 320 Montano, NW, on Monday, December 31, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery on Edith and Menaul NE.
