Helen Gertrude Kingston, 95, of Pflugerville, TX, passed away on November 28, 2007. She was born in Nebraska City, NE in 1912 and grew up in Council Bluffs, IA. She was married to the late George Anton Kingston, an Air Force veteran for nearly 40 years until his death in 1978. After several state-side assignments, they retired in Albuquerque, NM where she lived for 43 years. In 1998, she moved to El Paso, TX to live with her daughter and son-in-law. In 2002, she moved with them to Pflugerville. Helen was preceded in death by her son, Gerard Patrick; and her husband, George Anton Kingston; and her son-in-law, Dr. Romeo Di Benedetto. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Hewitt; her brother, Ken Camden; and her children, Victoria Di Benedetto, George Kingston, Jr. and spouse, Florence, Bill Kingston and spouse, Sammy, and Dr. Richard Kingston and spouse, Nicole. She was grandmother to Rainbow and Christa Joy Di Benedetto, Matthew, Gary, Andrew, Kasey, Jeremy and Olivia Kingston; and great-grandmother to Dawn Jacqueline Kingston and Siona Singh. Helen will always be remembered as a loving and kind person with a spunky spirit and a lovely smile. She devoted her life to the loving care and nurturing of her family in a warm, welcoming and comfortable home. She was well-loved by her progeny, and many friends, as she was known for her positive attitude, extraordinary generosity, practicality, honesty, kindness, and her uncanny luck, when playing any game of chance. She enjoyed the finer things in life - a good book, a cold Bud Light and a lively game of poker. She had a steadfast faith in God and placed her trust in Him for His guidance and assurance. She will be missed by the many people whose lives she touched throughout her long life. Helen's ashes will be taken to Albuquerque to be interred with her husband in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. A private memorial service will be held there in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to Hospice of Austin or the Opportunity Center for the Homeless, 1206 Myrtle St., El Paso, TX 79901.
