Obituary for HUGHES

Lucille M. Hughes, 88, passed away on November 22, 2007. Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Hughes in 2006; and four sisters. She is survived by her children, Michael E. Hughes of Placitas, NM, Cecilia Barr of Grand Junction, CO, and Chris and Joe Hughes, both of Denver, CO; a brother, Jim Roach of West Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hughes served in the Navy during World War II. In 1979, she and her husband moved to Albuquerque from Fort Worth, TX. Mrs. Hughes was employed as a caregiver at New Futures School in the early 1980s and as a clerk at B. Dalton Bookstore in Coronado Center until the early 1990s. She was a volunteer civilian clerk at A.P. D. and at the Wyoming Branch Library until 2005. She was also a longtime member of the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John's, where the Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2007. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dean's Discretionary Fund of the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John's, 318 Silver SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102.
