Johnny Grzelachowski, ETC US Navy Ret., of Las Cruces, entered eternal life on Thursday, November 22, 2007 in Albuquerque. Johnny was born to Alexander and Emily Grzelachowski in Ft. Sumner, NM on November 21, 1946. He attended school in Roswell. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy, where he honorably served for 20 years. After retirement, he worked at White Sands Missile Range as a Data Management Specialist where he retired after 22 years of service. Beloved husband to Rebecca, loving father to Steven and his wife, Gracie of El Paso, TX, Melanie Avalos and husband, JR. of Las Cruces, and Jessica of Albuquerque; doting grandfather to Marissa, Steven Jacob, MJ and Julian; brother to, Jerry and wife, Carmen, Tony, Irene, Patsy and husband, Chuck, Mary Lou and husband, Don, Angela, and Ruby; sisters-in-law, Sally and husband, Rick, Gloria and husband, Saul, Lupe and husband, Paul, Josie and husband, Manny; a special aunt, Maggie Eye; and numerous nieces, nephews, and his golfing friends and family. He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Faustin and Veneranda Casaus; mother-in-law, Faustina Madrid; and brothers-in-law, Reyes and Rudy. He was very patriotic and loved his country. Johnny was an avid golfer, and a huge fan of the Washington Redskins. Johnny will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Friends may visit French Mortuary Westside Chapel Thursday, November 29, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with Funeral Services following at 7:00 p.m. A Committal Service will be held on Friday, November 30, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Navy Honor Guard, White Sands Missile Range NAVSEA Detachment.
