Tommy Louis Franklin, 62, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, November 5, 2007. Tommy was born March 28, 1945, in Wink, TX. He grew up on the Spade Ranch outside Smyer, TX. He attended Lubbock schools. Tommy married Sarah (Cherre) Fowler July 30, 1965 in Lubbock. Tommy worked in sales before starting his own company, distributing parts to the LP Gas Industry until the time of his accident in 1996. He was a member of First Methodist Church, The Masonic Lodge, several LP gas trade associations, and small business organizations. He is survived by his wife, Cherre; son, Roger Louis and wife, Elena of Albuquerque; daughter, Sherre Lynette of Albuquerque; brothers, James Franklin and wife, Chris of San Antonio, TX and Johnny Franklin and wife, Linda of Lubbock, TX; sister, Betty Miller of Odessa, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Louis E. Franklin, mother, Mildred Bailey Franklin and sister, Joan Stewart. Services will be held Thursday, November 29, 2007, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Westside Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Westside Chapel, Wednesday, November 28, 2007, 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranch, 6209 Hendrix NE, 2nd Floor, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
