John Martinez, 69 a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, unexpectedly passed away Monday November 19th 2007 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife of 40 years Mary Helen; four sons, Jonathan, Chris and wife, Raquel, Gabriel and wife, Veronica and Aaron; two grandchildren, Roman and Thalia. He is also survived by his sisters, Flora, Gloria, Ester, Pauline, Margie and Angie; brother, Gilbert; sister in laws, Joyce Frances and Liz; brother in law, Joe and mother in law Crucita and husband, Charlie. Mr. Martinez was born in Clovis NM on Monday November 18th, 1938. He was a graduate of Albuquerque High, TVI and a veteran of the US Army. He retired from Bernalillo county corrections in 2000. John Martinez was a family man who raised four sons with his wife Mary Helen and was a member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church. John Martinez touched the lives of others for 69 years, inspiring everyone to do their best, being an unbelievable role model, husband and, friend. He will be missed on earth and embraced in heaven. John was a dreamer, a happy go lucky free spirit that lifted every ones spirit no matter the situation. A Rosary will be recited 7:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church.
