Obituary for BOYLAN

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Thursday November 22, 2007

THOMAS We lost Thomas Boylan last Friday, November 16, 2007. He was the beloved husband of Margo, cherished father of Marilyn, Malesha and Donovan and a dear friend to countless others. Tom was a pioneer in Pain Medicine and his patients were not just patients, but friends. Tom never turned a patient away and always spent as much time as necessary with his patients. Tom was well respected by his colleagues and loved by his many patients. He will be remembered in the ballooning community as a consummate gentleman, and referred to as a "class act" by his fellow pilots. He was always interested in sharing his love of ballooning with others. His goodwill, gentle demeanor and enthusiastic love for flight made him a true ambassador of ballooning. Tom also had a love of Fly Fishing and enjoyed his many fishing trips with his "Band of Brothers". Tom was born January 16, 1945 in Flushing, NY. At a very early age he moved to Colorado and grew up in Grand Junction. Tom graduated from Colorado State University, C.O.M.P. Osteopathic Medical School in Pomona, CA, and completed his residency at the Cleveland Clinic. He then moved back to Fort Collins in 1988 and founded Front Range Pain Medicine. Tom died in a sport he loved. He will be greatly missed by his three brothers-in-law, Ron, Kim, and Mark; his two sisters-in-law, Paulette and Stonie; his adopted family the Hanzliks; his special twin brother, Steven; his sister; his nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Johns XXIII, Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of life at 5:00 p.m., at the Silver Grill Cafe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Rebecca Brookhart memorial account, located at 1st Bank.
