Obituary for MONTE

Gloria Monte, 83, resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 5, 2007. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Al Monte. Gloria is survived by her daughter, Madeleine Howard and husband, John and their children, Ginelle and John Michael of Phoenix, AZ; son, John and wife, Diana Monte and daughters, Ariana and Lydia of Albuquerque; brother, Larry and wife, Linda Bandoni and their children, Keith Bandoni, Lenae Mac Phail and husband, Kevin, Leslie Balthrop and husband, Jason; sisters-in-law, Mary Vaio, Mildred, and Peggy Monte; brother,-in-law, Earl Cook; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gloria was very devout in her relationship with the Lord and the spiritual backbone of her family. Many years of service with the Women's Auxiliary at St. Joseph's Hospital characterized her love to help others. She was the "behind the scenes" person at Al Monte's Restaurant incorporating many family recipes and ideas for a very successful restaurant. "It's in the sauce". Gloria cared for the needs of others and was tremendously loved by many and will be missed. And now, she can truly say "I'm just fine". Cremation has taken place and Memorial Rosary will be recited Thursday, November 8, 2007, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 9, 2007, 10:00 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper NW, with Father Richard W. McGowan, S.J. Celebrant. Pallbearers will be Keith Bandoni, Don Devoti, Larry Monte, Danny Monte, Greg Poteet and Mike Sei. Honorary pallbearers will be Beppe Bandoni, Frank Bandoni, Tony Bandoni, Larry Bonaguidi, Earl Cook, Frank Devoti, Jimmy Gherardi, and Amerigo Sei.
