Don Josephine (Jackson) Boyd - "Don Jo", passed away on, Saturday, November 3, 2007. Don Jo was born to parents, M.P. Jackson and Katherine L. Gaunt, on December 8, 1921, in Texarkana, TX. She was an active member of the Laureate Delta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, since her pledge date in April of 1960, in Lawton, OK. In the past 47 years, she constructed the Yearbook, served as President, was voted Woman of the Year, and held numerous other offices in her fellow Preceptor and Exemplar Chapters. On March 5, 1949, she married Ivan O. Boyd, in Texarkana. She relished in her vast collection of Hummel figurines, and many other collectibles; she loved reading, crossword puzzles, and for many years enjoyed playing the organ and the piano. After living in London for 4 years, she loved to travel and grew a great fondness for Scotland. Following her retirement from Civil Service, Don and her husband moved to Peralta, NM in 1990, where she was a member of the Peralta Memorial United Methodist Church. Don Jo is survived by her loving husband, Ivan Sr., of 59 years; her sons, Ivan Boyd Jr. and wife, Renee of Peralta, NM, and Larry Boyd of Brea, CA; her daughters-in- law, Caroline Boyd of Mustang, OK, and Milly Boyd of Albuquerque, NM; her grandchildren, Dawn Davis and husband, Troy, Gary Boyd, Jr. and wife, Tyree, Alex and Rachel Boyd, and Ingrid Boyd-Graham and husband, Noel; and her great-grandchildren, Ti and Kira Davis, and Colby Sky Boyd, and a baby girl on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister; brother; and her two sons, Bernard "Butch" Boyd, and Gary Gant Boyd Sr. She was a loving wife, and a devoted mother and grandmother. Her strength and determination will be greatly missed and remembered by all who were blessed to have known her. The family extends their thanks and appreciation to all the caring hands at Presbyterian Kaseman Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Presbyterian Kaseman Hospice, 8300 Constitution NE, ABQ, NM 87110. A Funeral Service will be held, on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the Wyoming location of Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE, with a Burial to ensue at 2:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, in Santa Fe, NM.
