Ernestine "Tina" Esquivel, 75, a resident of Santa Fe and Albuquerque, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2007. A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her son, Martin Esquivel and his wife, Pauline; daughter, Karla Esquivel and her husband, Diego Rael; grandchildren, Graciela, Marisa, Carlos Jay and Aurelia, as well as many other loving family members and friends. Tina, also known as "Ernie" to family and friends where she grew up in Socorro, was warmly devoted to her late brother, Daniel Romero; brothers, Bobby, Raymond and Gene Romero; and her sisters, Jennie Aragon, Lugy Clark, and Dolly Yonker. Her early life experiences with her siblings, and late mother, Julianita, shaped her into a strong woman determined to provide much love and support for her family as she progressed down life's path. During many phases of her life, she successfully fought adversity with tremendous grace, dignity and unselfishness. Her work ethic, faith and courage were inspirational and admired by all who knew her. Her greatest joy was her children, both professionally and personally successful, and four happy and grateful grandchildren whose lives she impacted with wisdom, unending love and heartfelt affection. Her spirit leaves footprints in our hearts which will never be forgotten. A Rosary will be held Thursday, October 11, 2007 6:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
