Ruth Davies, 87, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2007. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Stephens and husband, Steve, of Albuquerque; son, Richard Davies and wife, Karen Hildebrand, of Plattsburgh, NY; step-sons, Keith Davies and wife, B.J., of Denver, CO, and Leonard Davies and wife, Susan, of Durango, CO; sister, Joan Raborn, of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jessica, Robert, Miles, Tristan, Matt, and Beth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emlyn, of 55 years. Ruth was the first woman Certified Public Accountant in New Mexico. She taught accounting at the University of New Mexico for 5 years and owned her own firm for over 50 years. She was a member of The New Mexico Society of CPAs, The American Society of Women Accountants, The Soroptimists, The Welsh Club, Cristo del Valle Presbyterian Church, and The Duke City Bridge Club for many years. Services will be held Friday, October 12, 2007, 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Chapel. Friends and family may visit Thursday, October 11, 2007, 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at French Mortuary.
