Gertrude H. Mahoney, longtime resident of Edgewood and the Albuquerque area, passed away October 1, 2007. Gertrude worked "on the hill" in Los Alamos during WWII, and moved to Albuquerque shortly after the end of the war. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Mahoney of Albuquerque; her sisters, Okie Hienze of Espanola, NM and Gladys Mumford of Golden, CO; as well as her niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Patrick Mahoney. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 5, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the French Mortuary Chapel at Eubank and Lomas.
