Obituary for COLEMAN

Bruce F. Coleman, Jr., 86, a resident of Albuquerque for 49 years, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Donna L. Coleman; five children, Patricia Coleman of Albuquerque, Jim Coleman and wife, Leslie of Lake Jackson, TX, Jean Delacour of Albuquerque, Linda Hays and husband, Keith of Albuquerque and Thomas Coleman of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Michael and Jessica Coleman of Lake Jackson, TX, and Amanda and Michael Ironside of Albuquerque; and many friends. Bruce was born in Detroit, MI on May 20, 1921 and graduated from Howell High School in Howell, MI. He then attended Michigan State where he graduated with a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1947. Bruce proudly served in the United States Army during WW II from 1943 to 1946. After graduating from Michigan State, Bruce moved to Saginaw, MI to work for Baker-Perkins and it was while there that he met and married Donna on September 11, 1948. They lived in several different cities in Michigan before moving to Albuquerque in 1958, where Bruce went to work for Sandia National Labs until his retirement after 25 years in 1983. His church, Asbury United Methodist Church, where he was a member for 47 years, was a very important part of his life. Bruce loved bowling and remote control airplanes. Bruce's love for his family was the foremost importance in his life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church, 10000 Candelaria Rd. NE, Tuesday, October 2, 2007, 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Milton Propp officiating. Private interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church, 10000 Candelaria Rd. NE, in Bruce's name.
