Obituary for BAUER

B. L. "Barney" Bauer, 88, died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, September 26, 2007. Barney was born in Parsons, Kansas and moved to Albuquerque in 1948. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Louise Journot Bauer. He is survived by his three children, LeAnna Jones, Merri Gandy and E. John Bauer; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Clara Ashmore and Kathleen Hills. Barney is a decorated combat veteran, having served in WWII as a master gunner. He was awarded the Legion of Merit and three Bronze Stars. He was a charter member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Visitation will be one hour prior to rosary. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, October 2, 2007, 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary Lomas Blvd. Chapel. Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, October 3, 2007, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
