Obituary for HOFFMAN

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Thursday September 20, 2007

IRWIN L. Born in Chicago August 8, 1927, Irwin passed away quietly September 12, 2007 after a prolonged illness. A lifelong student and teacher he will be remembered by scores of his humanities students as an exceptional, provocative teacher that they would come back to visit long after they had left his classroom. In later years he was a worldwide traveller who loved seeing Europe and the far east. His gourmet cooking found an outlet through Wednesday's Child and will be missed by not just a few palates. He is survived by his children, Joshua, Matthew, and Hepzibah; by his grandchildren, Zachary, Nigel and Iffa. Remembrances should be sent to the ACLU.
