Obituary for JARAMILLO

Ramona S. Jaramillo, age 86, a lifelong resident of Belen, NM, peacefully passed away while surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at her daughters home, Nila Baker in Rio Rancho, NM. She was born to Adolfo and Severa Padilla Silva on March 31, 1921 in Belen. Ramona was an active devout member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She was dedicated through love to Saint Padre Pio. Ramona was coordinator for the Padre Pio Group for over 30 years. She was a Third Order Servite member. Ramona was a long time member of the Spanish Choir and a member of the Legion of Mary. She was a homemaker and a loving mother who was devoted to her family. Ramona was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Margarito Jaramillo; her parents, Adolfo and Severa Silva; five brothers, Prospero, Miguel, Lalo, Abran, and Fidel Silva; and two sisters, Josefita Madero and Emma Garcia; Ramona was the last of the Silva family. Ramona is survived by her six loving children, Nila Baker and her husband, Leonard of Rio Rancho, Toby and his wife, Ermie of Socorro, NM, Dina Paulik and her husband, Jim of Dallas, TX, Ruben and his wife, Becky of Belen, Steve and his wife, Dinah of Los Chavez, NM and Andrew of Belen; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law, Margaret, Dolores and Rafelita Silva, and Eufelia and Rachel Jaramillo; one brother-in-law, Joe Aragon; and her many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is also survived by her extended family, Our Lady of Belen Catholic Choir and her Padre Pio Friends. Services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, on Wednesday, September 19, beginning with a public viewing at 6:30 p.m. and a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held on Thursday, September 20, at 10:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be concelebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Father Stephen Schultz presiding. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Toby Michael, Steve Jr., Kevin, Andrew Steven and Lucas; and great- grandsons, Mario Jaramillo and Ryan Tafoya.
