Obituary for ARMIJO

Santiago Armijo (Jimmy), 91. Our beloved father and grandfather, Santiago Armijo, died on September 1, 2007. He was born on July 16, 1916, to Pedro and Magdalena Armijo in Bosquecito, New Mexico, one of eleven children. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Sally Vigil Armijo, in 2001, and nine of his siblings. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Alvie and Tommy Torres, Stella and Ernie Lujan, and Michelle and Paul Lucero. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and their families, James and Deanna Torres and their daughter, Donielle; Tim and Michelle Torres and their daughters, Brittani, Ciera and Sivana; Paul and Sally Torres Pena and their children, Joshua, Cambria and Jerick; Charles and Tonette Torres Martinez and their children, Briana, Nicholas, Dominic and Joseph, James and Tammy Torres Cox and their son Zane, Elicia Lujan, Lucas and Stacey Lujan and their son, Aiden, Christopher Lucero and his sons, Aeneas and Matias, Marisa Lucero, and Adam Lucero. He is also survived by sister, Lucy Silva (Los Angeles); sisters-in-law, Rose Vigil Baca (Las Vegas, NV) and Margie Vigil Herrera; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Vigil; and numerous nephews and nieces. Santiago was retired from the U.S. Post Office. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church where he ushered at the 9:00 a.m. Mass every Sunday for over 40 years. After Sally's death, he moved to Encino Terrace where he enjoyed many new friendships and served on the Resident Council. We were blessed to have him as our father and grandfather. He was loving, kind, and devoted; he will be greatly missed. A Rosary for Santiago will be recited, Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at 10:45 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his five grandsons: James Torres, Tim Torres, Lucas Lujan, Chris Lucero and Adam Lucero and great grandson Josh Pena.
