Roger Torres went home Friday, August 31, 2007, surrounded by his loving family. He was a prolific artist and loved by many. Roger was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Bird and brother, Michael Bird. He is survived by his family: his father, Roger Torres and wife Rosie; step-father, Mike Bird; brothers, Robert Torres and wife Sara, Richard Torres and Reuben Torres; sisters, Joyce Goodall and husband, Jim, Dorothy Scanlon and husband, Volney, Patricia McCullough, Julie Calahan and husband, Dave, Lisa Miller and husband, Mike, Veronica Holmes and husband, Shane, Mary Jane Pounders and husband, Dave; 30 nieces and nephews; 39 great- nieces and -nephews. Roger loved and was loved by many. A Celebration of his life and a Homegoing Service will be held at Calvary Chapel of the Rio Grande Valley in Belen, on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Grants Memorial Park Cemetery in Grants, NM at a later date.
