Obituary for MELVIN

Lyle Leroy Melvin, Jr., 63, a resident of Albuquerque since 1985, peacefully passed away with family by his side on Monday, August 27, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 7 years, Patty Melvin; two sons, Chad J. Melvin and wife, Muna of Albuquerque and Jonas Melvin of Albuquerque; mother, Vera Melvin of Salina, KS; sister, Nancy McAuliffe and husband, Mick, of VA; brother, John Melvin and wife, Michelle of Salina, KS; the mother of his children, Dixie Melvin; and several other relatives and friends. Lyle was preceded in death by his father, Lyle Melvin, Sr. He was born on March 27, 1944 in Hoisington, KS and graduated from Salina High School. Lyle attended Fort Hayes State College before proudly serving in the United States Navy. After his discharge in 1966 he lived in Salina, KS where he was a respected businessman, and upon relocating to New Mexico he established himself as a Real Estate Broker where he was loved and admired by his peers. He was an avid motorcyclist, pilot, and golfer. Lyle had a great love for life and enriched the lives of those around him. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A Service to celebrate his life will be held at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, Friday, August 31, 2007, 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Bill Ruhl officiating. Private interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Tuesday, September 4, 2007.
