Obituary for PICA

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Saturday August 25, 2007

Nicholas R. Pica was born in Rochester, NY on Sept 23, 1941 to Celia and Nicholas A. Pica. He died August 21, 2007 in the city he loved, Albuquerque, which has been his home for the last 45 years. Nick was the consummate student exploring both Engineering and Accounting before finding his true calling in Law. He graduated UNM Law School class of 1968 and fervently pursued his lifelong passion practicing Business Law, acting as managing partner of his firm for most of his legal career. He was a giving and active member of his community, a devoted Lobo fan, a musician, a lover of the English language and of books. His quiet love and gentle spirit will be missed most desperately by his family; wife Christine, son Craig, daughter Cheri, stepdaughters Megan Ryan and Ashlie Ryan Yaeger and husband Eric. We will comfort one another and continue to hold you near. What a massive void you leave in our lives way too soon. A memorial service for Nick will be held at Faith Lutheran Church located at 10000 Spain Northeast in Albuquerque, Saturday, August 25, 2007 at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted at UNM Law School in memory of Nick. Donations can be sent to UNM Law School, MSC 11-6070, 1 University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM, 87131-0001. Questions regarding donations can be directed to Bill Uher, uher@law.unm.edu.
