Obituary for GARCIA

Jose Antonio Garcia, 81, died on Wednesday after a very long struggle with Parkinson's disease. Jose was born and raised in Albuquerque in the community of Los Duranes and later served in the Navy Coast Guard; he owned and operated a barber shop and loved to paint and spend time with his children. Mr. Garcia retired from Sandia National Laboratories after over 32 years of service He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Margaret; children: Don Garcia and wife, Marie; Ronald Garcia and wife, Isabel; Jose A. Garcia III; and Tiffany A. Garcia; sisters: Frances Candelaria; Betty Gallegos and husband, Mike; Mary Martinez; granddaughters: Vanessa Galarza and husband, Shawn; Lisa Garcia;great-grandchildren: Dominique Alvarado; Nicole Galarza; Frankie Otsuki; Mia Galarza; and Faith Galarza. The Rosary will be Friday at 7:00 p.m. at San Felipe Catholic Church in Old Town. Life Celebration Mass will be also be at San Felipe Catholic Church and will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Graveside Service at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jose A. Garcia III, Ronald J. Garcia, Donald Garcia, Willie Trujillo, Shawn Galarza, and Vincent Gallegos.
